Air Jordan 11 Jubilee

Looks:

The Jordan 11 was famously sold to Michael Jordan as the tuxedo of sneakers. On the surface, it's easy to understand why. The patent leather panel that runs around the bottom of the top is the first thing you notice on this and most pairs of 11s. This panel is cut higher than other retros from the previous ten years, taking influence from patent leather men's pumps.

Moving up the top, the midfoot is made of black mesh, with six black straps stitched on to hold the laces in place. The JORDAN written out in silver plastic along the straps distinguishes this shoe from the conventional Jordan 11 model. Some have speculated that this is a reference to the Reebok Question, however Tinker Hatfield really had this on his initial design. Thick rope laces are looped through the straps and cross over a nylon tongue.

The shoe has a matte, leather-look strip around the rear with an actual metal Jump Man attached. The inner of the shoe extends all the way to the middle of the back, where a plastic 23 is connected.

The outsole, which has a woven pattern molded into it, is brilliant white at the bottom. A milky, transparent outsole has the famous Jordan 11 wave design, which is broken up by gray rubber sections with herringbone traction. The carbon plate may be seen peeking through the arch and the transparent rubber.

The inside of the shoe is very normal Jordan 11. That translates to a velvety, black lining.

Fit & Comfort:

The Jordan 11 Jubilee fits like most Nikes, which means it's long and thin, and it's no different with the Jordan 11. If you've never tried one on before, it fits quite similarly to the Jordan 1 in length and breadth.

From a comfort standpoint, the shoes are adequate right out of the box. The midsole is soft, allowing the full-length air unit to expand. The carbon plate, on the other hand, is incredibly rigid right out of the box. This should break in over time — keep a look out for a long-term evaluation – but for now, we're concentrating on first impressions.

As long as you have your fit right, the upper of the 11 is quite comfy. The lining is very soft. Even better, Jordan Brand keeps the region just behind the achilles tendon unstructured. This means you can wear a high-cut shoe without putting strain on your ankle.

Unfortunately, if you don't size appropriately, you're going to be in a lot of trouble. The patent leather has very little elasticity to it. A shoe that is little too large may crush your foot, while a shoe that is slightly too small will wrinkle in an unfavorable way. Make sure your size is as accurate as possible.

Materials:

When it comes to materials, the Jordan 11 Jubilee does not disappoint. At the very least, if you walk in with the correct assumptions.

Everything appears to be in order from a visual standpoint. There are no obvious flaws, and everything appears to be highly durable. I have no doubt that these shoes will last a long time. The woven nylon on the top, in particular, appears to be nearly excessively thick - the shoes might certainly be just as durable and comfy with a thinner option here.

The outsole is made of gripping rubber with stronger rubber contact areas for additional traction and durability. Someone playing on an outdoor court in these could wear them out, but for casual wear, they should be more than enough.

The shoe has a carbon plate, full length air, EVA foam, and a soft insole on the inside. I want to wear them to see how they hold up, but you can see a deconstructed version here. That's a lot of tech for a sneaker that's 25 years old.

The little details are also appealing. To the touch, the metal Jump Man feels icy. While this may not seem like much, it adds to the sensation of opening and putting on the shoe. The JORDAN letters and numerals are a little narrower than I'd want, but that's probably a price for versatility.

The one flaw with the shoe is that the leather is either totally fake or coated in so much plastic that it doesn't matter if it's genuine. Both the patent leather and the back leather are pleasant to the touch, but a little pressure reveals that they are made of plastic. It's difficult to criticize too much because they look fantastic, but it's worth noting.
