The Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning' Retro is Nearly Here
Jordan Brand brought back the Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning' almost a year ago, and after multiple shifting release dates, early looks, and hazy intel, the drop is finally set in stone. For the time being.
Contrary to popular belief, the Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning' did not release on August 7th. What is now confirmed is that the bold yellow retro will return in full family sizing at the end of the month, with details largely unchanged from the first time they were released.
Yellow nubuck uppers with nubuck lace ‘wings' and heel tabs instead of the usual plastic variety, raised jewel Jumpman heel branding, grey tongue lining, and a white midsole are among the features. According to previous reports, the shoebox has been updated for 2021, with a yellow and cement speckle type replacing the black/grey type from the mid-2000s.
Thankfully, the 'Lightning' retro shouldn't be as difficult to obtain as the 2006 original, which required customers to be a member of Team Jordan and have a reasonably fast Internet connection. The entire release was conducted online and sold out quickly – the 2021 edition is likely to follow suit.
The Air Jordan 4 ‘Lightning' is set to be released on August 28 by Nike and select retailers.
