The Basement X New Balance 2002R Is Ready To Be Released
Since its inception on Facebook, the community group "The Basement" has gone a long way. We've seen it grow to 258k Instagram followers, launch multiple in-house retail launches, and provide innovative twists on traditional footwear designs over the last few years.
In 2017, it released its first collaboration sneaker, the Nike Dunk Low BSMNT. The three-piece Nike Air Max 90 City Pack debuted in 2019, highlighting London, Manchester, and Glasgow through the eyes of local creatives.
The Basement (BSMNT) has experimented significantly with the manufacturing applications of the silhouette in question with each release, choosing to avoid what would be considered the standard. This trend appears to be retained in this next pair of New Balance 2002R's.
The BSMNT 2002R is available in two colors: olive green and grey, both of which use slightly contrasting tones to accentuate the silhouette's complex layers. This edition of the sneaker, which is usually made of mesh, is made of suede and nubuck, the latter of which is severely blocked in black at the toe and heel in both colors. The famous New Balance "N" emblem is only partially sewn as a finishing touch, echoing the BSMNT Air Max 90 "London's" DIY style.
WTAPS and Alpha Industries (to name a few) have just released hot interpretations on NB silhouettes, indicating that there is still a lengthy line of yet-to-be-seen collaborations on the way.
