Vans Boot Skoot LX Hit The Waves In The Vault
Vans' dominance in the skating world is undeniable, but if you're unfamiliar with surf culture, you probably didn't realize they created surf shoes. Vans has a series of surf-performance boots with waffle soles that offer a refined take on the tooling that makes Vans such a terrific fit for skateboarders. The new Boot Skoot LX was designed with inspiration from silhouettes like the Surf Boot 2.
The Boot Skoot LX was designed as a bridge between a surfer's necessities and their onshore style. It takes a variety of design influences from neoprene surf booties and enhances them. From the stretch neoprene midsection to the high-top silhouette to the shape of the leather and rubber overlays, the shoe's foundations are full of references to the cold-water Surf Boot 2. You'd be forgiven for mistaking these for bootleg Margiela Futures thanks to the ankle-length, velcro strap, and laceless slip-on style.
Perforation is seen within the neoprene components of the sneaker, providing it with enhanced breathability and comfort, despite the fact that style takes precedence over function. The sneaker's translucent blue soles, which are reminiscent of Air Jordan ice soles, replace the customary gum hue of Vans' distinctive waffle soles. Additional elements like the red heel tab and "Sidestripe" confirm that these are from the Vans family and not from a Tron Legacy costume.
The Vault by Vans Boot Skoot LX will be available in two colors: "True White" and "Black," with modest "Checkerboard" design on both.
