Check Out These All-American DTLR X New Balance 992 “Varsity” Sneakers

It's starting to appear like 2021 will be New Balance's year. The 990 series has acted as the ideal canvas for brands to stamp on, with partnerships pouring in at a rapid pace. There's a lot to choose from, and with the legendary shoe line's 40th anniversary coming up in 2022, there'll be plenty more to come.

Following in the footsteps of WTAPS and JJJJound, streetwear shop DTLR has stepped up to the plate. DTLR's June Sanders and Fresh Balance collaborate in a celebration of varsity athletics and the spirit of athletic competitiveness, using influence from classic collegiate designs to breathe new life into the 992's greyscale foundation.

The New Balance 992 remains the same at its foundation, but the addition of blue suede to the toe box, heel, and topmost section of the eyestays elevates it to a patchwork-inspired level. Another flash of red suede can be seen at the back of the midfoot, complementing the American flag on the tongue. Golden-yellow embroidered NB emblems lie atop the tongue as a finishing touch, evoking the team names on the backs of letterman jackets.

These aren't going to make you a better athlete, but they will make you feel like one, thanks to their love of American sports culture.

It Doesn't Get Any Sweeter Than This For The Nike Dunk High "Chocolate"

Since its comeback in the shoe business, the Nike Dunk has had a plethora of colorways. Sneakerheads all over the world have enjoyed a variety of colorways with themed features over the last two years, some in commemorative designs and others that are just plain simple and lovely. And while we're on the subject of sweets, the Nike Dunk High "Chocolate" just dropped, and a closer look at the shoe reveals that it can't be any sweeter than it already is! The iteration has a high-top profile, which gives the heels and ankles more support. Unlike its "Light Chocolate Sail" counterpart from last year, which had milky hues, this premium leather rendition has darker brown tones.
