The Converse "Chase the Drip" Footwear Collection By Kelly Oubre Jr. Is Revealed

Kelly Oubre Jr. is regarded as one of the most stylish NBA players both on and off the court. He intends to translate that aesthetic into his newest "Chase the Drip" footwear line, which includes the Converse SkidGrip Hi and UNT1TL3D silhouettes, as a part of the Converse family.

Both variants are inspired by the Charlotte Hornets baller's rebellious attitude and nickname "Tsunami Papi." The uppers of the UNT1TL3D are primarily drenched in a solid black colour. The lateral side of the wall is ornamented with all-over “Converse” and “Tsunami Papi” notations, evocative of Hokusai's renowned The Great Wave off Kanagawa woodblock print, while the wall is covered with all-over “Converse” and “Tsunami Papi” notations. The bottom portion is likewise buried in a dark tint, save for the white Converse logo on the lower heels.

The aesthetic composition of its release sister, the Skidgrip, pursues a somewhat different course. The uppers are made of a dark black canvas with slits along the length of the shoe.

A white backdrop with repeated “Converse” and “Tsunami Papi” logos spelled out in black type can be seen through these holes. The midsoles have also been given a glossy black polish, giving the sneakers an enhanced appearance and feel.

Kelly Oubre Jr.'s Converse "Chase the Drip" capsule is currently available at Converse and select retailers. The UNT1TL3D costs $75 USD and the SkidGrip Hi costs $70 USD.
