Adidas' 'Boba Fett' Samba Sneaker Is The Brand's Greatest 'Star Wars' Collaboration

Throughout the previous decade, Adidas and Star Wars have cooperated to create a variety of galaxy-inspired sneakers honoring characters such as Boba Fett, Yoda, C-3PO, and Stormtroopers. That collaboration is now continuing with a design that is unlike any other; a new "Sarlacc Pit" Samba celebrating bounty hunter Boba Fett's escape in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

The Sarlacc Pit is a lair in the film that houses, yes, sarlaccs; monsters who swallow a person whole and slowly devour them over a thousand years. While battling near their pit, Boba Fett is thrown into the jaws of a sarlacc, and in order to prevent an agonizing death, he wounds the beast with an exploding sail barge.

The Sarlacc Pit Samba from Adidas captures this setting with a tan suede top that resembles Tatooine's sandy dunes. The Three Stripes and leather heel overlays are accented in dark brown, possibly to allude to the hue of the Sarlacc Pit. More visible features, like as tentacle patterns and toothy spikes on the heel, make the link plain but not overpowering.

The lateral logo on the Samba has been changed with "Boba Fett," a testament to his remarkable escape from the Sarlacc. Star Wars insignia appear on the tongue tags with Adidas branding, and the sneaker is finished with a gum outsole.

Rather than depending on a previously utilized (and stale) silhouette within Adidas' galactic relationship, the newest Star Wars shoe emulates the film series as a classic that everybody can appreciate. The Samba model, like Star Wars, was extremely popular in the 1970s and 1980s, and it still has a devoted fan base today (as well as multiple spin-offs).

The Sarlacc Pit Samba stands out... in a good way. As one of the few low-top lifestyle shoes in Adidas' Star Wars line, which previously concentrated on Top Ten His, Ultra Boosts, and NMD R1s, the Sarlacc Pit Samba distinguishes out... in a good way. Its design does not make us want to "vomit banta milk" like previous Star Wars shoes.

Adidas has not announced a release date for its themed sneakers, but they are likely to be available online in the coming months. Hopefully, obtaining the limited edition Star Wars sneakers will be easier than the effort depicted – may the Force be with you.
