The Love Affair Between Li-Ning And Hajime Sorayama And Sexy Robots Continues
According to Hajime Sorayama, Li-Ning has acquired a fondness for attractive robots, and they aren't ready to call it quits just yet.
The Sorayama robots are well-known. Period. As an artist, he has been in the forefront of blurring the border between science fiction and human desires. His work, which is largely influenced by superrealist art, is centered on robots, particularly sexual ones.
While his work clearly distinguishes between fantasy and reality, with the Metaverse's quick approach and our apparently always-on digital future, who knows – they may wind up being more real than we could ever think.
Aside from the sexiness, Hajime's robotic artworks have made their way into fashion and shoe collaborations all over the world - Poggy, BAPE, and Dior, the metallic stamp is everywhere. There are outfits and even sculptures that make you angry — what a wonderful world we live in.
Within the domain of shoes, Mizuno has double-dipped its toes into the cybernetic lake of dreams (whatever that is), releasing a silver and black edition of the Wave Prophecy.
Following a tease earlier this year, it is now Li-time Ning's to get a taste of what the robot googly eyes are all about.
The "LET SPORTS LIGHT YOUR PASSION" collaboration centers on the Li-Ning Shadow, a silhouette that has gained prominence owing to Soulland. The Sorayama Shadow, in contrast to the Danish brand's more austere design approach, is, of course, silver.
The shape is more streamlined than ever, with metallic embellishments on a mostly white foundation. The tongue fastening technique gives shoes a Blade Runner vibe, which fits with Li-unconventional Ning's approach to sneaker design.
Along with the Shadow, the collection includes short-sleeved t-shirts, skateboards, a basketball, and other gear with robot motifs.
