Trinidad Jame$ And Saucony Sneakers Turn To Sorell Red

When I think about Kanye West's time with Nike, notably the Air Yeezy 2, two words spring to mind: "Red Octobers" and "Solar Red." Arguably, the hues are more more memorable than the shape itself, because I always refer to "Platinum" as "the grey pair."

Hip-hop musicians and all-red colorways go together. Thanks to Kanye, the "Red Octobers" are perhaps the most memorable application of the color scheme to date, but West was also responsible for the great success of the Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse "Independence Day" bundle – notably the red pair – back in 2013.

The rapper-starter-pack statement style of the early 2010s was triple-red shoes with all-black suits, and while we may attempt to avoid it, it lives on.

Margelia's Reebok Classic Leather Tabi recently joined a long line of primary-colored sneakers, and now, Trinidad Jame$ gives the Saucony Originals Jazz 81 its own vivid touch.

Trinidad Jame$' popular song "Gold" is as synonymous with the 2010s era of Hip-Hop as red shoes are.

The period is experiencing a mini-revival of its own thanks to his impending Saucony Originals collaboration. The original Jazz 81 shoe is given a vivid color makeover named "Sorrel Red," after the rapper's favorite drink "Sorrel," which is made of dried hibiscus flower petals.

The limited-edition collaboration is courtesy of Jame$' brand Hommewrk and is a tribute to his sense of style.
