Is It Possible That The Union LA x Nike Cortez Will Be Released Soon?
Union, a Los Angeles-based streetwear store known for previous high-profile Nike and Jordan Brand collaborations, is at it again, this time working on one of Nike's most famous forms. The Union LA x Nike Cortez has just been leaked, and fans are already gushing about the revised and better look of the classic sneaker.
The Cortez was effectively the first-ever contemporary running sneaker, designed by Nike co-founder and Oregon track coach Bill Bowerman and introduced in 1972. It has now become a cultural symbol, having been worn by a plethora of celebrities throughout the years, most notably Forrest Gump in the classic film of the same name.
The sneakers appear to be made of a variety of materials, including suede, nubuck, and canvas, and come in a wheat-like colorway. The design features red and blue details throughout, including Nike's famous Swoosh on both sides and Union's recognizable insignia stitched on the heels. Dual-branded tongues and insoles fill off the style, while a tonal speckled sole completes the look.
It's unknown whether or when they will be released, given we've only seen leaked photographs so yet, but stay tuned right here.
